Experience @ Cadbury Chocettes (in Top 20 finalist)
6:09 PM
Before this, I submitted my video to Cadbury Chocettes. You can search for my vid there with the tag 'cinema' under the 'watch & vote' section.

They are picking 20 finalists over 600 vids submitted. The goal is to get them perform live stand-up comedy to win the grand prize, RM 10,000. With the brilliant idea of Jason Ko, founder of MYC, Malaysia had its very first Laughter Carnival / Festival at Piazza Concourse, The Curve.

So, I never thought I will get a chance to enter Top 20. Other vids voted more than 1000 times. My vid has like only 3 votes? I'm not usually extrovert so I'm not really popular with gaining public favor and stil working on my self-esteem, honestly. Thus, I've totally throw in the towel for in top20 for this contest. Just like any other online voting contests, I'm not fully happy with the online voting systems. Let's say, your vid got 200 views but you got 800 votes. FAir? Maybe. Do the math. 1 view : 4 votes. The figure is not precise but you get the idea. But that's the way thing works. Everybody wants to win. There's no fair and level ground.

However, I've received a call claiming I was in the top 20, 1 week ago. As ecstatic i can be, I am still stuck with Final Year Project on nearing deadline. However, once again considering how rare this opportunity is , I went ahead to participate. To be precise, the event occured today. My F.Y.P coding is really hard. I wanna cry. Cant solve it. My friends' 'insert' modules are easier alot.

Anyway, back to the event, my jokes are prepared like 3 hours yesterday before I sleep? My performance is not very funny but I am damn proud because I pulled it off despite the killing heat around 1p.m and butterflies in my stomach and the haunting of my final year project in my head. If i forgo this event, i will never get any experience and will turn into the kinda programmer that talks to computer only. IF i go, I might humiliate myself like i always do. So i choose, option 1, to attain the experience doing a live humor set.

Seriously though, the MYC team had done a very excellent job on the setups and event runs. They are also good in anticipating the participants' Malaysian Timing. lol. I left early after round 1b, because my parent's had arrived and I need to get back home urgent. I don't know who win but one guy named Jenhan is really good with creating laughters.  In my opinion, he could win! All the jokes are really funny.hahaa. Except the weather.

I would like to thank MYC! and Cadburry Chocettes for the opportunity.
